Keeping your child safe online – for O2 & Vodafone users

In the wake of EE’s latest venture with Internet Matters,  a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to ensuring the safety of children online, the team at CMM telecoms have put together a short guide for Vodafone & O2 users.

Vodafone

Vodafone offers a variety of free resources including how-to-guides, their Digital Parenting magazine and Web Super Skills cards. You can read or print the magazine for free online, with 6 issues currently available. The Web Super Skills cards focus on five internet safety messages. To create the cards, Vodafone teamed up with the creators of ‘Moshi Monster’s’, to offer an engaging internet safety pack for 4-10 year olds. You can download and print the pack here.

O2

O2 campaigns alongside NSPCC, the leading children’s charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man. As innocent searches can reveal less innocent results, O2 and the NSPCC offer a free helpline for parents as well as appointments at O2 stores to set up parental controls on your device. The controls can be used to block upsetting or harmful content, control in-app purchases or manage how long your child spends online. You can find out more here.
