The Find 7 is a smartphone by Oppo, released May 2014. And branded as “a phone that’s designed to push the limits of modern mobile technology by exceeding your expectations.” And from what we’ve seen, this is definitely not far from the truth.
Firstly, Who Is Oppo?
Oppo is a relatively new Chinese-based company, that has only recently started marketing its handsets to the international market. And though they’ve had a smaller budget than the big players such as Apple, Samsung and HTC. Over the years, they’ve managed to offer great handsets at under-cut prices. But what makes Oppo stand out? Oppo has become more and more popular because they listen to their users. And update their handsets regularly, according to feedback, so you receive more value for your money even after the sale.
The Find 7 Design
The Find 7 features a 5.5” Quad HD Screen, with a rather impressive 2560 x 1440 resolution. The screen will work flawlessly even while you wear gloves, or through water droplets. The display offers immense clarity and convenience, while further durability is provided from the use of Gorilla Glass 3. Not only is this screen tough, but it also has a 40% improvement in strength compared to models without Touch-on-Lens technology. The body is made from a solid titanium-aluminium alloy frame, which is cool to the touch due to advanced thermal dispersion. And is available in ‘Midnight’ (Black), or White. There’s no denying that this is a sleek looking phone, and does bare a resemblance to the Sony Xperia range.
Transforming Camera & 4K Video
The Find 7 features a 5 megapixel front camera and a 13 megapixel rear camera, equipped with the latest generation stacked IMX214 CMOS sensor by Sony, upgraded type 1/3.06 imaging module and a wide f/2.0 aperture that allows more light in, so you can take great photos even in low light conditions. The camera also features built-in HDR hardware to guarantee a flawless photo. The camera packs another feature ‘Ultra-HD’ multi-shot, which lets you shoot 50(!) megapixel photos. The multi-shot takes ten photos at the backend with the press of a button, then automatically combines the images to produce a 50 megapixel photo. This feature is pretty phenomenal, and allows you to take seriously high-quality prints even though the smartphone is equipped with a 13 MP camera. Even more astonishingly, the video facility has a 4K resolution with HDR! So far, we’re failing to find a fault.
Sound Enhancement Technology
The Find 7 uses MaxxAudio, a sound enhancement technology by Waves. The recipient of technical Grammy award. The technology offers a dynamic range and a frequency responsiveness, augmented to give you crisp and clear listening.
Unbelievable Battery Life
The Find 7 features a 3,000mAh removable battery, with a rapid charge. Using a VOOC fast charging system that offers a charging speed 4x faster than conventional chargers. Most of you probably like to think, or desperately hope, that a quick five minute charge of your smartphone before you leave the house, in a rush of madness, will keep you powered. And all of you will know that this is never the case. With the Find 7, it sort of is. Unbelievably, a five minute charge will actually give enough power for a two-hour phone call, while a charge for half an hour will take the battery up to 75%! The advanced thermal dispersion kicks in again with five layers of thermal protective coating to prevent the device from overheating while charging.
Specs Easily Comparable To The Premium Smartphones
The Find 7 runs on the Android Jelly Bean 4.3 OS and uses the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AC, 2.5 GHz quad-core processor to give you top notch processing power. When it comes to connectivity, the Find 7 has 4G/LTE capabilities for the fastest possible data on the move. And when you think it can’t get any better, the Find 7 even supports expandable storage up to 128GB, from 32GB, so you’ll have a hard time running out of space.
Most Importantly: Value For Money
The Find 7 is available for 399 Euros, that’s around £325! I’m half tempted to chuck out my iPhone, and grab myself a Find 7 today. The value for money nears outrageous. With 4G capabilities, a humongous storage space, awesome camera, rapid charge, a quad-core screen and more. This is a smartphone that deserves public attention, and is a smartphone that the other brands definitely need to watch for.
