Apple AirPods now released
Last September, Apple released the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus without the traditional headphone jack. Instead, they made a rather controversial move and included Apple EarPods that are designed to connect via the Lightning port using an adaptor.
Not only did this mean Apple fans could no longer listen to music via their headphones and charge their iPhone at the same time, but it also resulted in the hassle of carrying around another cable.
Until now.
Apple has finally released the solution – AirPods – the wireless version of Apple’s Earpods that connect via Bluetooth.
Each of the AirPods have a touch sensitive back, so you can activate Siri and answer calls using the built-in microphone by simply tapping on one of the earbuds twice. Making for a truly hands-free experience, you can use Siri to change your playlist, ask for directions or turn up the volume.
The wireless AirPods may be questionable in the fashion department but they do remove the issue of tangled wires and you’ll be able to stand up from your desk without worrying about unplugging.
The AirPods include a case that doubles as a storage case and a charging unit. The case offers 5 hours of listening time on one charge and a pretty impressive 3 hours of listening from just 15 minutes of charging. In total, the charging case offers more than 24 hours of battery life.
The AirPods are priced at £159 – although a rather hefty price tag, the technology and convenience gained by the AirPods offers brilliant value for money, and a solution for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus users.
Currently, Apple has a 6 week lead time, however as a CMM customer you can pre-order your AirPods and we’ll notify you as soon as they are available. To do so, please contact your account manager on 01252 854352 or email sales@cmmtelecoms.co.uk.
