EE’s new WiFi Calling Service
EE has officially launched it’s new WiFi Calling Feature – giving you the ability to make and receive calls and texts over WiFi. By doing so, you can stay connected even in areas with weak or no mobile reception – whether that be at home, in the office or even on the underground. While O2 and Three offer smartphone apps that allow you to make calls over WiFi, EE’s solution takes it up another level. The new feature does not require an app, just your phone’s regular dialer and messaging app, making usage effortless for you as a user. Incoming and outgoing calls and messages will automatically be routed over WiFi (as long as you’re connected to a WiFi network) with no app launching or special efforts required.
Who can use the new feature?
- Pay monthly customers – not pay as you go customers
- With a compatible EE-issued handset that supports WiFi calling: Samsung Galaxy S6 or the S6 Edge, Microsoft Lumia 640, Apple iPhone: 5s, 5c, 6 or 6 Plus running on iOS 8.3. (See how to download the latest Apple operating system here).
* EE’s service will not work abroad to preserve roaming revenues
