Nokia releases 3G variant of the 3310
The original 3310 was one of the World’s best-selling handsets with around 126 million units sold worldwide, 17 years ago. In May this year, Nokia released a revamped 3310 which also exceeded expectation with demand 7x more than Nokia expected and now the Finnish mobile giant is releasing a 3G variant.
Design
Alongside 3G, the 2017 3310 features a colour screen (gasp), and a bright plastic shell available in glossy yellow, glossy orange, matte grey and matte dark blue colour options. Keeping in line with tradition, the 3310 sports Nokia’s reliable keypad. Noticeably sleeker than it’s predecessor, the updated 3310 is thinner by 9.2mm and weighs 53.4 grams less than the original.
Specs
Upgrades include a 2MP camera, micro-USB charging port, headphone jack, microSD storage and Bluetooth. However it’s still an old-school phone so there’s no WiFi, GPS or app store but there is 3G internet, an upgrade from 2.5G featured in the original revamped model earlier in the year. Further features include calls, texts, lo-fi photos and the much loved Snake for all those feeling nostalgic. But even better than Snake, Nokia claims the battery on the updated 3310 will last almost an entire month on standby.
